This collection contains over 4,500 items concerning the impeachment hearings of President Richard M. Nixon. Moorhead was a representative for the Forty-third Assembly District of California from 1966 until 1972, and was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1972. During the hearings Moorhead served on the Judiciary Committee. As a result he was the recipient of this constituent letters giving opinions on Nixon's actions and if they deserved impeachment. Within the collection there are 4,293 pieces of correspondence sent to Moorhead. The remaining items were split between 321 that are responses to constituents from Moorhead and 62 other items that were sent to other members of the committee and forwarded to Moorhead.
