Will send his own cavalry tomorrow to meet Smith and General Grenville Dodge's train. Requests that Smith send a quartermaster to assist him in the field. With autograph endorsment signed in initials by Scammon stating that this cannot be done at the present time.

He is now the acting orderly for the Provost Marshal. Written on "Head Quarters Provost Marshal..." stationery. Includes an "OFFICIAL" envelope with the "Head Quarters Provost Marshal..." name and address printed on it.
