Writes to Ogden a second time because he did not receive a reply after his first letter. Reports that the Carlisle Barracks, which had been destroyed by the Rebels, are being rebuilt. Describes the destruction done to Carlisle's railroad and nearby buildings. Says Ford's regiment has received new tents and is encamped near "the City." He is now the acting orderly for the Provost Marshal. Written on "Head Quarters Provost Marshal..." stationery. Includes an "OFFICIAL" envelope with the "Head Quarters Provost Marshal..." name and address printed on it.
