At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Piles would like Senator Bruce to know that he is interested in the position of Post Master of Greenville. However he is only interested if Dr. Young is unable to pay his bond for the position.
This paper is very fragile along the folds and in some places the paper has torn along these folds.
