Also includes a quote from David Crocket: "be sure you are right then go ahead." Comments on the weather and a recent horse race. Mentions the resignation of Colonel James H. Walbridge and new commander Lieutenant Colonel Stone. Pre-printed letterhead reads: Headquarters - Second Vermont Infantry, Sixth Corps.
