Says the prices on enslaved people have gone up in the last year. Also discusses the harvest, which he says is very poor due to floods. Expects his crop to be very bad this year, and discusses prices. Says he may have to move his family soon in order to get by. Recipient inferred from other letters.

Account book for the Winn family's Hardware plantation. Lists debits and credits, sales and purchases of supplies, tools and produce. Lists sales of tobacco, prices of other crops, amount of tobacco produced by each enslaved person, and wages. The enslaved people are listed by their names Phebe, Dumb Tom, Deaf Tom, Old George, etc., and the weights of tobacco and/or dollar values of the tobacco transactions are listed by each name. Document also states that they would be given winter clothes and not to work on rivers or island. Included in these terms were people enslaved by Elias Willis and Thomas Drummond.

One document stating the terms by which people enslaved by John Winn would be hired out for work. Lists their names and amount charged, and names of the people requesting their labor. Document also states that they would be given winter clothes and not to work on rivers or island. Included in these terms were people enslaved by Elias Willis and Thomas Drummond. Notation that Jenny, an enslaved woman should receive a bonnet, rather than the standard hat being issued.

Advertising the terms under which his slaves may be hired out for the upcoming year. Some of the slaves belong to General J. H. Cocke, the others to the estate of Thomas Winn. Signed twice by John Winn. Docket lists the names and prices of the slaves available to rent, and the names of the men who hired them.

Court testimony requesting a court of equity to divide the slaves of a deceased woman among many heirs. The slaves, who once belonged to Mary Barclay, now number almost two hundred. William Gilliam is among those mentioned. Testimony given by James Cole Dickinson, but copy signed by Hunter.

Receipt stating George Winn, the administrator of Mildred Bradshaw's estate, had paid a seventy five dollar debt owed by the estate. An enslaved person from the estate was being held as collateral until the debt was paid. Creasy signs with his mark. Also signed by a witness, name illegible.

Receipt for fourteen dollars "for medical services rendered negro woman Maria." The receipt is made out to George Winn, who acted as administrator for the estate of Mildred Bradshaw. Maria belonged to Bradshaw's estate, and had gotten sick while hired out to Benjamin Barnet in 1829.

Title: Account of sales and hiring negroes of Mildred Bradshaws estate, by J Winn for G Winn

Lists property sold and enslaved people outsourced for labor on Mildred Bradshaw's estate, for which George Winn is the agent. Also lists who the names of enslaved people who were sent out with the price paid for them, and the quality of their work. Goods sold include a "bay mare," a stove, a spinning wheel and a pot. The cash earned is also divided among Bradshaw's heirs.

At the bottom of the page is an autograph note signed by L. Weaver, stating that the debt on the receipt has been paid in full to Seay, dated 8 October 1825.
