Also mentions raising money for Honorable Portus Baxter and wife for services to the sick and wounded. Reports that they have spent no less than $8,000 of their own money. Highlights the gallantry by members of the army including the retrieval of wounded soldiers near enemy's line, and setting fire to two story house from where the rebel sharpshooters were perched.
