She reports that Nancy's grandmother, who has not been feeling well, has been upset by news about Lodge. She tells Nancy to let her know if she needs money and hopes she is feeling well.

DiChristina was a Private E1 in the second platoon Co.A., 6th Bn., 3rd Bat Bde, in basic military training at Fort Dix, New Jersey and then serving in Vietnam as a P.F.C. in the third platoon, Co.A,. 1st Bn 8 Infantry, 4 Division. At the time of the letters, they were each in their early 20s and late teens.

The army doesn't know what to do with him, but they'll probably put him in as a replacement for another unit. Something should happen within the next week, but he still has to pass his "64" [flying physical exam]. The letter is dated "Friday 24, 1944." "Letters in a Box," notes the letter was sent on March 24, 1944.

The poster was used as a recruiting propaganda to get people to join the Armed Forces during World War I.
