The Gilder Lehrman Institute (GLI) recently received support to build a new suite of resources related to the US Naturalization Test, commonly referred to as the citizenship exam. The suite will consist of a new interactive test portal for students to take a mock citizenship exam, with real-time feedback on their answers, and short videos explaining the historical significance of selected questions on the test.
In support of this work, we have assembled a pilot cohort of teachers across the country. The pilot will run from October 2023 through January 2024 and involve a time commitment of eight to ten hours. Pilot participants will receive early access to these materials for review and a stipend of $100 for participating. Pilot group teachers will
- Use the test portal (either in an interactive online or printable PDF format) and the videos in their classroom
- Provide feedback to GLI on these materials via surveys, focus groups, and individual interviews
Email Daniel Pecoraro, Senior Program Manager at education@gilderlehrman.org if you have any questions regarding this pilot program.
