Following this remark, a word has been censored and cut out of the letter. Conner writes that the conditions were hard, that they were "in mud and water rain and every thing else and I hope we never go on a nother one for it to much for me to stand." He lets Nueal know that they have not put his tooth back in. He says that he will fix it himself when he returns to the United States. Conner includes his weight, which is currently 183 lbs. He writes that he has lost 9 lbs. since he has been here. He sends his love and says "hello" to everyone.
