A single page from an issue of Haper's Weekly from January 19, 1901. This page features a series of photographs entitled, "The New Immigrant Station on Ellis Island." The photographs feature the Ellis Island immigration station, a family of immigrants, the baggage room, and a group of immigrants waiting for a boat to New York. On the reverse side of the page there is a series of articles concerning society and news of the day entitled, "This Busy World" and written by E.S. Martin. The articles are concerning the death of Philip Danforth Armour, reaction to testimony concerning hazing at West Point Academy, the retirement of John Tenniel from "Punch," Abram D. Hewitt prompting philanthropy, the marriage of Mr. Frye superintendent of the public schools of Cuba, and enrollment and tuition amounts for the most populated colleges in the country.
