At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Includes five sections of material for different classes of Boy Scout. Includes many illustrations of survival training and medical care as well as sections on animals, plants, navigating by using stars and creating maps. It also contains information on how to be a good citizen including the history and care of the American flag, and how to become a voting citizen.
