A letter from William J. Myers to Mary Rose Myers dated July 23, 1943. William writes that they arrived Wednesday night and they are staying in a hotel/hospital. He thinks it's a nice place, but he is cold at night. William expresses his doubts that he will make it "across" (presumably overseas) but gives her an A.P.O. address in San Francisco. William also mentions that he might send some stuff home but, not to get too concerned if nothing arrives. He also notes that he doesn't know when his pay will arrive but there is an allotment that will arrive in September. William signs the letter as "Tex." Written on Hotel Saw letterhead. There is also a note on the envelope in blue pen, "Last Letter Before overseas Departure."

The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
