A letter from William J. Myers to Mary Rose Myers dated May 27, 1943. William writes to Mary Rose in hopes that the letter will get to her before she leaves to visit him. He has not been able to get to town to see about getting a room for her. He suggests that when she arrives she contact the Chamber of Commerce for room availability, or to call his squadron. He gives Mary Rose the phone number of the Chamber of Commerce. William also mentions that he will also go into town and check room availability. The letter is very circular and William repeats himself a few times. William signs the letter as "Tex." Another note in blue ink that reads "Bill left Columbia July 10th to go (1943) overseas"

The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
