One letter from William J. Myers to Mary Rose Myers dated December 14, 1942. This letter is written on Key Field, Mississippi letterhead but the return address is Madison, Wisconsin. William writes that the base is in an uproar because fifty percent of the squadron is sick with measles, scarlet fever, and pneumonia. So far he has not gotten sick but the two barracks on either side have both gotten sick and quarantined. He predicts the whole base will be down by next week. William also writes about Mary Rose visiting. He suggests coming at Christmas as he might have more time then. Otherwise he will only see her for a few hours. William also suggests that when Mary Rose arrives she go to the V.S.O. (Veterans Service Office) as they have people that can find her a place to stay. William signs the letter as "Tex."
