This fundraising pamphlet for the United Negro College Fund is for ten percent of the educational budget of 1950. The projected budge to raise was $1.4 million. The inside of the brochure summarizes the number and types of professions financed by contributions to the United Negro College Fund. This includes teachers, doctors, dentists, nurses, religious leaders, agricultural workers, skilled technicians, social workers and artists. The packet states that these graduates are contributing to the community and progress of the nation.Also that the measurement of the colleges is "a major responsibility for the advancement of nearly 15,000,000 Negro citizens toward democratic goals. Helping these colleges meet those goals, is the concern of every America - for clearly, what affects the well-being of one-tenth of the people, affects us all." On the inside flap and on the back of the pamphlet there is a list of participating colleges, as well as the listing of the National Council as of February 9, 1950.
