A letter from President Reagan to Moorhead concerning an upcoming decision dealing with military deterrents. He asks that Moorhead support the decision to place 100 "peacekeeper" missiles at Francis E. Warren Air Force Base near Cheyenne, Wyoming. Reagan also writes "We all hope, however, that the Soviets will join us in seeking meaningful progress in arms control negotiations." He also mentions the commitments made to disarmament, including reducing ballistic missiles by one half, and ballistic missile warheads by one third. This letter is on White House stationery.
