The front page of the letter is written on 21 of July. She is still in "Galliea" when writing this. She writes that she is lonely and anxious to come home in a month from the date. Nellie describes having church services in Mary, Mother of Jesus', home. The 110 degree weather kept them indoors in the afternoon. She comments how much the city has modernized since 1949. The back of the letter continues dated 22 July. She writes in the margins she is enjoying this trip ("this," being Greece) because she is less afraid, since fighting broke out between "arabs and jews" three days after leaving "Damacus". In the body of the letter, she writes The King of Nigeria was staying at the same hotel in Galilea causing delays to the airport. Once arriving in Athens, Nellie got her haircut. There was no mail waiting in Athens.
