Masthead vignette depicts an industrialized Southern Confederacy. Announces the beginning of the Vicksburg campaign on page 3. Front page has a mocking description of "A Model Yankee Officer." Various letters printed on page 2-3, including one from British Minister to America, Lord Lyons, to Earl Russell. Several advertisements for a reward for the return of deserters.
