Includes the essay "Buying a Brother from Bondage" which describes the purchase of Frederick Douglass' freedom. Cover and some inner pages contain water stain. Accompanied by a small card printed at the American Tract Society in Boston, Massachusetts. The card, entitled "Friend, Come to Jesus," encourages Christian conversion. Card measures 13.1 x 8.7 cm.
