An obituary memorializes "Captain W. P. Roebuck". Several articles condemns practices in the North -- "Northern Theology" criticizes the North for abandoning God as an ally in the War, and an article titled "Serfdom" equates serfdom to Yankee subjection. An editorial examines unrighteous "Bloodshed," denounced by heaven. "The New Commander of the Army of Tennessee" gives a brief biography of General Hood. "Secular News," on pages 2 and 3, reports on an explosion Petersburg and the location of the armies of General Grant and General Sherman, amongst other items; much of this section is cut off by a rip. A small blurb on page 3 titled "Interesting Incident" reports on Lieutenant-Generals Hardee, Hood, and Stewart sending a telegram to Jefferson Davis regarding the removal of General Johnston as commander of the army.
