At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Graham accepts Bishop Hunt's invitation to preach in Charlotte. He proposes a five day mini-crusade which will be televised nationally. He comments on the success of his Northern California Crusade despite the radicals at Berkeley University, the Hell's Angels, bomb threats and demonstrations. He states that 75 % of his audience is under 25 and believes that there is a "Jesus Revolution" occurring in the country.
