Writes to his wife that he is doing well. Remarks that he hopes the Adjutant "will report the truth for we have done nothing to put down the rebellion since we came out here but guard oficers and march our selfs to death for the division hasent seen nor smelt a battle since they been out for the oficers dont want to do eny thing like fighting if they can help it for they are geting big pay and are waited on like gentlemen and that they cant have when they get home..."
