Asks Nichols to update him on his financial obligations as he has realized he will need more money than he thought to furnish his house in Virginia. States that Lillie and Bessie are enjoying the new location. Invites him to visit during the summer. Postscript advises that he will be willing to give the land needed to widen Vassall Lane as long as the owner on the other side will give as well. On stationery from the National Military Asylum, Southern Branch, where Hincks was governor of the National Home for Disabled Volunteers after retiring from the army.
