Confederate General Rodes thanks Major Blackford for a note and cake he sent through Captain Halsey. Writes that he arrived in Hanover Junction to protect Richmond, Virginia. Hopes "soon to be in my old place however with the Div: reassembled... I am glad to learn that the operations you have had performed are likely to be so successful..."
