Written from Montpelier, Knox's home in Thomaston, Maine. Asks Sampson to return a temporary land lease to a Mr. John Neubit. Was told the land lease, originally belonging to Mr. Samuel Waldo, passed into Sampson's hands "without any assignment on his [Neubit's] part."
