Discusses bank notes (most likely belonging to Knox) that are due. Encloses an abstract of expenses for the construction of Knox's house (Montpelier). Mentions he purchased the materials for Knox's house at the best rate. Writes, "This said house now erecting at St. Georges [House] - Covers more ground - has more rooms in it, and larger rooms - more windows, doors - fire places, and is a much larger house in every respect than any other private house from Philadelphia to Passamaquody [sic] (Passamaquoddy, Maine)…I think the house too large and costly." Mentions Mrs. [Sarah L.] Flucker offered to pay her loan to Knox but he (Jackson) has refused the money until he hears from Knox. Reports they elected John Winthrop and Perry Morton, from the Democratic Party, as their representatives. Sends his love to David.
