At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

First two pages list of the amounts Nathanael Greene owed to specific individuals. Pages three and four provide a detailed summary of Greene's debts. Rutledge notes that Greene's debts can be divided into three classes: private debts, those relating to Cumberland Island, and debts incurred by Greene's involvement with John Banks.
