At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

List of furniture and utensils belonging to a Mrs. Manson that was retained for the use of the 3rd Provisional Brigade, General Eliakim P. Scammon's unit. Lists furniture and other items in the General's office, Quarter Master's Office, dining room, kitchen and beds with bedding. List is the same as GLC 2414.177, though .177 is identified only as an inventory of furniture.
