Regarding his public quarrel with General Andrew Jackson. Feels that Jackson is trying to make him look bad in any way possible, but is not too concerned. Addressed to "Major," from whom he had received correspondence. Surname of recipient may be "Mercer," as Scott mentions that he looks forward to seeing the recipient and Mrs. Mercer.
