Nesmith, James, fl. 1796
Manuscript letter
Title: to Isaac Parker
Marked "copy." Writes that because he was so deeply touched by Parker's recent letter, he wants to provide Parker with any information he has respecting Samuel Ely's group of insurgents in his region. Describes a town meeting about whether to support Ely. Relates how different towns in the region plan to handle Ely's claims that the residents own the towns and Knox does not. Includes a transcript of a resolution from Davistown (possibly present day Liberty, Maine).
