After hearing the opinions of "every old woman child & man" about how to treat the disorder, Aaron decided that "all the best authorities" relied on Belladonna and treated his wife with that drug. Archer's] last letter to Maimie. Also, mentions Aaron having to make [medical] house-calls to sick persons and his intention to go to a "meeting of the Medical Soc[iety]. tonight."

Brigadier General Scammon of the 23rd Ohio regiment writes to Smith to forward a complaint letter from a woman named Laura Ruffner, who asked for interference in the matter of coal property. This letter is written on a portion of a page of Ruffner's letter but her letter is cut off. Scammon asks Smith, whom he addresses as "Honorable," what should be done. On verso is an autograph endorsement signed by Scammon dated 19 March responding to Mrs. Ruffner stating that the civil authorities are charged with protecting the rights of Mrs. Ruffner.

"'Heavenly Recognition' Again" responds to an article in the previous issue. An article written by a woman describes the local "Flowers." An article encourages the "Support of Ministers." Part of an editorial titled "Our Olio" states that slaves have been trained into insubordination and that they should be kept in their place "as an inferior race." "Secular News" includes reports that Europe will not recoignize the Confederacy, whites are rioting against Negroes in Detroit and other cities, and Penscola is being evacuated by Yankees "and their sable comrades," amongst other reports.

"Hospital for Women" advertises a new hospital for women in Atlanta. A couple of letters not intended for publication, in regard to subscribing to the paper, are printed here. A blurb titled "Baptize the Whole Army" regards General Havelock's army. "Secular News" includesreports from Suffolk, West Point, Blackwater, Port Hudson, and Jackson, amongst other places.

Letters to the editor make suggestions about how to distribute the paper to soldiers. A woman writes an epistle titled "Prayer." A letter is printed from the "Educational Association of the Confederate States." "Secular News" includes Union forces at Vicksburg; skirmish between General Robert E. Lee and the Union army, resulting in Union losses; General Forrest repulsing Union forces at Danville, amongst other news.

"For the Army" reminds soldiers to remain faithful to their mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters back home.
