Published by John Lovell. Rose reports on the claims of both companies as a commissioner for Great Britain. Johnson reports as commissioner for the United States. Both mens reports were delivered in Washington, D. C., 10 September 1869. Johnson and Rose were commissioned to settle questions between the United States and the Hudson's Bay and Puget Sound Companies "with respect to the possessory rights and claims of those Companies, and of any other British subjects in Oregon and Washington Territory."
