Pertains to training while at Fort Bragg and being stationed in the South Pacific Islands. He also addresses his sister's husband B.J. Dorroh and their newborn daughter, Lola Jean. One letter is from LeRoy W. Biddle which is written after Conner is killed and he is notifying Nueal Dorroh on a shipmen of knives that she had originally sent to him.

Conner writes that he has received 3 or 4 letters from Nueal, his sister. He asks Nueal to tell her husband B.J. that he wishes he was back driving. He tells Nueal not to worry about him; he is fine, but he does not have time to write. Conner reports that he is getting his teeth fixed today, and that his fellow men are treating him as good as to be expected. He drove a truck the other day and the other men bragged on him, so he believes he will be put on one again. He tells Nueal to be good, and signs off. The letter is written on Fort Bragg stationery.

Conner hopes that Nueal and B.J. are ok and says that he is fine. He writes that the men brag on him and treat him well. He reports that they go out 2 nights on a black out a week. He says that the weather is very different compared to Alabama as it rains and snows a lot in North Carolina. He asks for B.J. not to work so hard and wonders if he is still sawmilling. Conner writes that Erma is worried that he will go out with another girl, but she need not worry. He says that the camp is the biggest in the world and there are some good boys here. He asks Nueal to write him when she can.

He says that it is colder here and very rainy. He has not yet received Nueal's stamp and letter but gets all of letters. He writes that he has to go and tells her to be good until he sees or writes her.

He asks Nueal to tell Jonas's mother that Jonas is ok, and to thank Mrs. Crawley for letting his mother know that he was fine when his letters were not reaching her.

Writing in response to the news about B.J. from Nueal, Conner says that it is good B.J. set up his sawmill at Mrs. Dorroh's place because there is "real fine timber" on her place. He sends his love and asks Nueal to write soon.

He writes that mom sent him cigarettes as a Christmas present, but that he does not need him since Jonas doesn't smoke and he gave his cigarettes to Herbert. Conner has not received Erma's box yet. Mom is sending him a pin and a watch, but he needs a fountain pen and asks Nueal to tell mom to send him one. He sends his love and signs off. In the postscript, Conner says that Jonas is ok and made P.F.C. (Private first class) this month.
