One newspaper clipping sent by Omer H. Kelpe to Virginia Heidt Kelpe in a letter dated December 25, 1943. The clipping is a cartoon of a woman holding a baby with a young child hugging her. The three are looking out of a window at the moon and stars. In the window is a blue star banner. The caption for the cartoon reads, "Yes, those same stars shine out in the Pacific, and Dad's probably looking at them and thinking about next year's Christmas just like us!"
