One letter addressed to Floretia Mitchell from Wallace Mitchell dated December 16, 1863. Pertains to his health a skirmish with Hampton's mounted infrantry. Relays that he has had a bad toothache and wanted the surgeon to remove a tooth, but he said it would do no good. They had a tough battle with Hampton's mounted infantry and are currently living in the field with no preparations for winter quarters. Also included is a newspaper article on the Army of the Potomac dated December 2, 1863.
