Amanda Bellows

Dr. Amanda Bellows is a historian of the nineteenth-century United States. She teaches at The New School in New York City. Her first book, American Slavery and Russian Serfdom in the Post-Emancipation Imagination, was published by the University of North Carolina Press in 2020. Her research, writing, and teaching focus on American slavery and the Civil War era.
