One letter from Susan Prowell Graeff and Raymond James Graeff to Leonard Eugene Graeff dated December 2, 1943. Susan writes that she cleaned upstairs all day. She inquires about how he is doing in service school, and if he has drills or is marching while in school. She went into town to turn in the proofs of his photo, and saw Daisy and Clara Hess. They were shopping for Christmas, Daisy is sick with the grippe. Daisy has also aged a lot and looks older then she is. Raymond has gone food shopping, but inquires what the "F" and "Bar 303 U.P.-M.11-15" in Leonard's new address means. Susan wants to confirm Leonard has his driver's license as it was not in the wallet he left at home.

The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
