One letter from Lenore Holbrooke to Richard Jerome Silbiger, dated December 19, 1943. Lenore writes that she sent a package with a Christmas gift for Dorothy although it is addressed to Richard. She is glad that he received the package she sent earlier with the bracelet and soap. Had she known that soap was such a luxury item she would have sent more, but she will send a few boxes when Richard is more settled. Lenore tells Richard not to send a Christmas gift to her as the prices and shipping are so expensive. She will, "take the will for the deed and appreciate it just the same." Lenore wishes him luck in school and hopes he remains in the United States for as long as possible.
