Collection of letters belonging to Warren Harold Schwartz dated 1941-1945. Consists of 712 letters, a pamphlet, diplomas and photo album. Addressed to primarily Naomi Horowitz, his girlfriend at the time whom he would marry. Other letters are also addressed to family members: Eva Schwartz, his mother; Morris Schwartz, his father; Sarah Friedman, his grandmother and his younger sister. Covers basic training, his tour of duty in North Carolina, Morocco, Germany, Italy, Tunisia, France and England. Describes daily life, finding solace with the local Jewish community in North Carolina, and comments on various generals. Scrapbook contains 32 pages of photographs taken of and by Warren Schwartz. (see GLC09662.713) Schwartz served in the U.S. Army as a Technician Fifth Grade for the 925th Field Artillery Battallion, 100th Infantry Division.
