One letter from Jessie Hollis to Leonard Eugene Graeff dated August 25, 1939. Jessie updates Leonard about her children. Viola, and Frank Jr. visited her last week and have taken Robert and Dennis with them when they left. She plans to go visit Viola and Frank Jr., and pick up the boys the next day. Addie May was not feeling too well so she is being kept in bed but she will hopefully be better by the next day. The next weekend is Labor Day and she asks Leonard if she can bring the family and visit him. If they can't come it is likely they won't have another chance to visit until the next summer. Jessie then says if she dosen't hear back from him in the week that is what she will do. If they do visit Leonard should postpone his visit until the first week in September. If he postpones he will miss the humid weather they are having and maybe his mother will be feeling better and she can come visit too. She mentions some current events and writes, "It looks as if the world is to be plunged into another war. Hope something is done to prevent it."
