Augsberger writes that Christmas is coming, and reminisces about last year's Christmas. He expresses how much he wishes he could be at home with Ardena this year. He asks if she has received the handkerchief he sent to her. Augsberger requests that she tell him when she has gotten it so he can know how long it took to cross the Atlantic. He writes that he misses her very much, especially on cold nights and recalls how they used to cuddle up in his car to get warm.
