Says he called on Ogden while on his way home from the Army, but she was not at home. Notes a few days later, he took sick and was instructed by the doctor to seek treatment in the North. He has been in Maine since July. Says home is no longer the same because many of the men have left to fight in the war. Notes that despite this, recruiting quotas were not met, and a draft was installed. Concludes by telling Ogden he will be coming to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to seek work.
