At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Discusses the postal service. Mentions that the delivery days for the mail might change. Asks Aaron to write to the Postmaster General and inform him that they do not want the change. Also states that he wants Hobart to "attend to the Interest of the manufactors," and discusses related matters.
