"A cavalry force has been ordered to Columbia & another to Fayete, but it is not known yet whether they can cross at Boonville & Jeff[erson] City. I have telegraphed to latter place to direct, if possible, Com[man]d[in]g officer at Fulton not to move on Concord till tomorrow morning. Reg[i]m[en]t of Infantry will join you today. Look out for the bridges in your rear & have them well guarded."
