Four Federal cavalrymen are sitting or leaning on posts in the foreground on the right of the image. On the left, multiple railroad tracks lead off to the horizon. There are train cars on the leftmost track which were abandoned by the Confederates upon their evacuation. The track to its right diverges to form two parallel tracks. Farther back, several men on horseback are visible near the center of the image.
