Reports to his sister that his friend, Charlie Blackman, who recently visited with her, paid her many compliments, such as, "their is nobody like you." Discusses her desire to have him "use my influence with Father and Mother to get you a piano." Proposes "I got a very nice Wash Board down here and I will send that on to you. You can practice on that every day and after you learn that thoroughly then perhaps we can raise you the Identical Article you want." Adds, "I think thats the way with you ladies. Every thing you see your friends have you want it yourself and you not satisfied till you get it." Written on stationery with "US Army General Hospital, Newton University, Baltimore" letterhead.
