Writes to his father from camp near Sharpsburg, Maryland. Thanks his mother and father for writing and for sending papers. Gives an update on his brother Theodore's health, which is improving, although his is still weak and in the hospital tent. Describes sleeping conditions. Writes that he visited the chaplain of the 118th Pennsylvania Regiment and was baptized and partook in the Sacrament. Letter incomplete and unsigned, pages missing. Written in graphite.
