Peter Robert writes that he has been awaiting the arrival of Captain Harris, who was supposed to bring him a remittance of 6000 pounds that would then be used to pay his debts. He fears, however, that Harris will not have any money, and "If he should come home & bring me nothing God only knows what I shall do and which way I shall extricate my self."
