Shows Stonewall Jackson's route, his attack on the 11th Corps on 2 May 1863, and the "Place where Jackson was killed." Many annotations on reconnaissance, military activities, and places occupied by certain commanders, including Joseph Hooker. Shows rivers and roads. Title and key, indicating locations of several Union divisions and Confederate troops on accompanying separate sheet of paper. There is a draft of another map in pencil on the verso. "Maps drawn by Lucius Thaddeus Stanley" added in pencil in a later hand. Battle of Chancellorsville was fought on 2 May 1863, map was drawn after May 2. Ink and colored pencil on heavy card.
